In the olden days, photography was black and white. Then it turned color, and with that a big step forward was made. The next step was the digital camera, which would replace film based photography. Needless to say, digital photography gives numerous advantages over film based. For starters, you can instantly see photo output on the camera display, and if you are not happy simply delete it and take the photo again. With film, only when it was developed could you get to the output. In addition, if the photo was not ideal then it would end up in the bin. There was no way to judge the overall photo before developing.
At any rate, further to being able to see output on the camera display you can actually edit the photo on the camera itself or better still, on computer. Truly, digital photos can be transferred to computer image editing software, and stored on hard drive. Here, they can be edited in such areas as contrast, sharpness, hue and saturation, as well as composition with cropping techniques. Many digital cameras are more user-friendly also. They can provide something called best shot options. By this, the user can select a best shot option which is closest to the photo type they are after. Examples are portrait, scenery, black and white, auction, night photo etc. These set the camera setting for the photographer.
So ultimately, the digital age of photographer has made it possible for amateurs and pros alike, to take better photos – linking IT and photography for editing and alternative display options. Indeed, photography has come some way since those black and white Victorian pioneers of old.
